THNIC Supports Schools Nationwide in Their Digital Transformation Through the “เว็บศึกษา.ไทย” Initiative

The THNIC Foundation is inviting small and medium-sized schools across Thailand to apply for funding under the “เว็บศึกษา.ไทย” project, which aims to promote the use of .ac.th and  .ศึกษา.ไทย domain names. A total of 600 grants will be offered to eligible schools.

In today’s fast-moving digital era, a school website has become an essential tool for sharing information and activities with the public – students, parents, local communities, and anyone interested. A well-designed website not only serves as an official and efficient communication channel but also reflects the school’s credibility, modern identity, and professionalism. It is also a secure space that helps prevent impersonation or the creation of fake websites that could harm the school’s reputation.

Dr. Pensri Arunwatanamongkol, Executive Director of the THNIC Foundation, said that the เว็บศึกษา.ไทย initiative marks an important step in supporting small and medium-sized schools that lack sufficient budget or IT personnel. “We understand the need for school websites to be reliable, secure, and easy to manage. The .ac.th and .ศึกษา.ไทย domains—which undergo strict verification—are the most suitable choices,” she said.

For 2025, the Foundation is providing a total of 600 grants, divided into three categories:

  • Category 1: Domain name support — 300 grants
  • Category 2: Domain name + ready-to-use school website — 150 grants
  • Category 3: Domain name + installation of Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals — 150 grants

“This project not only reduces the cost of developing and maintaining school websites but also serves as a significant starting point for helping educational institutions transition into the digital age in a stable and sustainable way,” Dr. Pensri added.

Eligible applicants include small to medium-sized basic education schools with no more than 1,860 students and no existing domain registered with THNIC at the time of application. Schools may apply from now until 31 December 2025. Priority will be given to schools with personnel who have completed training under the Webkru.ไทย program.

The เว็บศึกษา.ไทย initiative presents a valuable opportunity for schools nationwide to enhance their digital readiness and strengthen their online presence. Interested schools can apply or learn more at: เว็บศึกษา.ไทย or webac.in.th
