The Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNIC) held the “UA Day 2026” hands-on training activity under the topic “Upgrading Organizational Systems to Global Compatibility for Supporting Thai-Language Domains and Email” on May 6, 2026, at the Computer Service Center, Kasetsart University. A total of 37 participants, including web developers, IT personnel, and individuals interested in website development, joined both on-site and online formats.

This training was organized to promote knowledge and understanding of the Universal Acceptance (UA) principle, a key approach to enabling internet systems and digital services to fully support Thai-language domain names and email addresses. In particular, it supports the practical use of .th and .ไทย domains as well as Thai-language email across various online platforms and services effectively.

Participants learned through both theoretical and practical sessions covering core UA concepts and approaches for improving systems to support users comprehensively. They also gained hands-on experience using Thai-language domains and email in real-world applications, allowing them to apply the knowledge within their organizations effectively. In addition, they exchanged experiences and practical insights with instructors, helping deepen understanding of website and service development aligned with international standards.

A demonstration (demo) was also conducted to show how to modify websites and systems to support Universal Acceptance, including methods for configuring systems to correctly handle Thai-language domains and email according to global standards.

The training featured experts including Ms. Pitinan Kooarmornpatana, IDN Programs Director from ICANN; Mr. Joseph Hincks, Media and Communications Specialist/CPE and CI from UNESCO; Mr. Titipong Pak-insri, Operation and Support Manager at Thai Name Server Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Anawin Pongsaboripat, Assistant Director of THNIC, who shared knowledge and experience with participants.
