THNIC participates in technical discussions at ICANN79 on the topic of digital identity authentication (eID Round Table)
The THNIC Foundation participated in technical discussions at the 79th conference of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which took place March 2-7, 2024.
Dr. Pensri Arunwatanamongkol, the executive director of the THNIC Foundation, presented work on the use of electronic authentication and identity verification systems for .th domain registrants, including electronic identity verification services via email @คน.ไทย, to access various online platforms in Thailand.
In addition, Dr. Pensri outlined THNIC’s vision to transform .th and .ไทย, which are ccTLDs (Country Code Top-Level Domains), into digital identities in the future. This initiative focuses on developing Thailand’s internet ecosystem to support usage in the digital age.
