THNIC Academy Organizes “Computational Thinking and Programming Skill” Training Program to Enhance Computational Thinking and Basic Programming Skills for High School Students in Tak Province
The THNIC Academy of the Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNIC Foundation) successfully organized the “Computational Thinking and Programming Skill” training program for high school students from May 30 to June 3, 2026, in Tak Province. The program attracted a total of 35 participants, including 32 students from Tak Province and 3 students from Bangkok.

The training commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Parkpoom Tripatana, Director of THNIC Academy, who introduced the mission and activities of the Thai Network Information Center Foundation, as well as the educational initiatives of THNIC Academy. He also provided an overview of the training program to help participants understand the objectives and expected learning outcomes.

The main sessions were led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Akara Prayote, a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Faculty of Applied Science, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, together with a team of instructors. The program focused on developing participants’ understanding of Computational Thinking and fundamental concepts in Computer Science through engaging, hands-on learning activities.
The training covered algorithm design through game-based activities that encouraged analytical thinking and systematic problem-solving skills. Participants were also introduced to basic programming concepts using App Lab, where they learned to develop simple games. In addition, students gained practical experience in user interface design by creating wireframes and learning the fundamentals of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design.

Toward the end of the program, participants took part in activities designed to strengthen their communication and storytelling skills. By performing short plays based on the games they had developed, students were encouraged to express their creativity, build confidence, and enhance teamwork and presentation skills.
The program also featured career and academic guidance sessions, providing participants with insights into higher education opportunities and career pathways in computer science, information technology, and related fields. These sessions helped students better understand future educational and professional opportunities and supported them in planning their academic and career goals.
