THNIC Supports Young Webmaster Camp 20, Driving the Adoption of Thai Domain Names and Email Addresses Among Thai Youth

The Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNIC) has supported the 20th Young Webmaster Camp, a hands-on training program organized by the Thai Webmaster Association. The event took place from 31 May – 3 June 2025 at the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), bringing together 80 participants from across the country.

This year’s support from THNIC is particularly special, as the foundation provided practical, implementation-focused assistance aimed at promoting the use of Thai domain names and Thai-language email addresses in real-world web development.

For the first time, all participants created websites and registered domain names in both .in.th and .ไทย. They also developed their websites to be fully compatible with Thai domain names and Thai-language email addresses. This marks a significant milestone in advancing the adoption of Thailand’s local-language domain names and offers young creators the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with these technologies from the very beginning of their web-building journey.

THNIC also awarded scholarships to all participating teams and provided both .in.th and .ไทย domain names to every participant. The awards were presented by Dr. Pensri Arunwatanamongkol, Executive Director of the THNIC Foundation, who also offered words of encouragement to the young participants.

This initiative reflects THNIC’s continued commitment to promoting the real-world adoption of Thai domain names in Thai society, while strengthening digital literacy among youth through hands-on experience on multilingual-ready platforms. The program aims to prepare the next generation for an inclusive digital future where everyone can access and create online content equally.
