The Thai Network Information Center (THNIC) Foundation held an award ceremony for the “เว็บครู.ไทย” (Webkru.in.th) contest for the year 2025, and officially launched the new “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th) project on Saturday, 1 November 2025, at the Khunying Prayong Auditorium, Satri Si Suriyothai School.

Khunying Kasama Varavarn na Ayudhya, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, presided over the ceremony and presented the awards to the winners.

As for the results of the “เว็บครู.ไทย” (Webkru.in.th) contest 2025, more than 500 participants from 12 training centers nationwide took part in the competition. Five national-level awards were presented to outstanding teachers, as follows:

4th Runner-up: Ms. Charinthip Srimongkolwitaya, Pachi “Sunthorn Withayanukul” School — Website: ครูชรินทร์.ไทย

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Sonprapa Siripatwich, Director of Satri Si Suriyothai School, who delivered the opening remarks. Mr. Poonsak Sakkatatiyakul, Advisor to the webkru project, presented the project’s progress report.

Dr. Pensri Arunwatanamongkol, Director of the Thai Network Information Center Foundation, introduced the “เว็บครู.ไทย” (Webkru.in.th) project and officially launched the new “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th)  initiative, marking another significant step in promoting the use of technology to support learning in Thailand.

“THNIC Foundation is committed to building a safe and sustainable digital ecosystem for education. We began by helping teachers create their own websites, and we are now expanding this effort through the “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th) initiative, giving Thai students the opportunity to see how technology can be used to create value and open new possibilities for their future.” — Dr. Pensri Arunwatanamongkol

This year, the initiative has expanded its concept to  “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th), giving students the opportunity to create their own personal websites in the form of professional e-Portfolios that showcase their identity and achievements. Unlike social media platforms—which frequently change and offer limited control—personal websites provide students with a stable space to compile their work and serve as a safe and creative platform for expressing their abilities.

In addition, the Foundation is inviting secondary schools nationwide to join the  “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th) initiative as “model schools”. Participating schools can integrate website-building modules into their teaching—whether through clubs, special projects, or elective courses. Students joining the program will receive their own .in.th or .ไทย domain name along with a certificate from THNIC Academy, which can be used as supporting evidence for university applications under the TCAS system.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “Unlocking TCAS: Boost Your e-Portfolio Skills with Your Own Domain”. The session was moderated by Khajornkiat Dontree, Manager of OpenDurian and founder of the “DEKSHOWPORT” platform.

Joining the discussion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pariya Na Nakorn, TCAS System Manager from the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), emphasized that one of the key factors in the portfolio admission round is the credibility of information and the relevance of a student’s work to the chosen program. A well-structured e-Portfolio website effectively

supports this requirement as it provides verifiable content, clear references, and a comprehensive showcase of each student’s abilities.

comprehensive showcase of each student’s abilities.

The event also featured experience-sharing sessions from teachers and students who participated in the project. Ms. Anchisa Srirueangphan, a teacher from Satri Nakhonsawan School, explained that while students previously could submit lengthy portfolios, the new 10-page limit has made it challenging for them to showcase their full range of work.

She shared that creating a personal website with its own domain has become the most effective solution. It not only offers a more formal and polished presentation but also allows students to conveniently include links to real project work. She added that having a Thai-language domain name gives students a strong sense of pride and reinforces their authentic identity in the digital world.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jirathip Tuida, a student from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, shared his experience in building an e-Portfolio. He noted that having a personal website makes his work more dynamic and engaging compared to submitting a PDF file. A website allows him to freely embed videos, animations, and additional details, making the presentation more compelling.

He added that a well-crafted website also reflects the student’s dedication and technological skills—qualities that stand out in today’s digital-driven admissions landscape.

Dr. Pensri also emphasized the importance of using .th and .ไทย domain names, which are official country-code domains that require strict verification of registrant identity. This ensures higher credibility, reduces the risk of impersonation, and reinforces the professionalism of students’ online work.

She noted that these domains are widely recommended by government agencies and educational institutions, making them a trusted and reliable choice for academic and professional portfolios.

THNIC Foundation continues to advance both the “เว็บครู.ไทย” (Webkru.in.th) and “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th)  initiatives, aiming to expand its network of teachers and students nationwide. As part of this effort, the Foundation has introduced a special policy to reduce the annual domain fee to just 200 THB per year for all teachers across the country.

For schools that integrate the “เว็บนักเรียน.ไทย” (Webstudent.in.th)  curriculum into their teaching, participating teachers will receive two years of free domain registration while students will be eligible for three years of free domain usage. These measures are designed to empower Thailand’s education sector with a trusted digital presence and inspire the next generation to grow confidently in the online world.
